Please Note: These positions are funded through a grant by the Canada Summer Jobs program. The program provides wage subsidies to employers from not-for-profit organizations, the public sector, and private sector organizations with 50 or fewer full-time employees, to create quality summer work experiences for young people aged 15 to 30 years. Funded employers are not restricted to hiring students—all youth aged 15 to 30 years may be eligible participants.

Visitor Information Coordinator Summer Internship Opportunities

Term of Employment: Approximately July 4 to August 26, 2022
Hours: Approximately 35-hour week (includes weekends and holidays)

 

The Delta Visitor Information Centre, operated by the Delta Chamber of Commerce, is seeking applications for the role of seasonal Visitor Information Coordinator to work as an ambassador for our community in the federal electoral district of Delta (City of Delta and Tsawwassen First Nation) and the Province of British Columbia. These positions (3) are well-suited for those interested in business/marketing, community and/or economic development, or tourism. These summer positions will be focused primarily on supporting local, regional, provincial, and national tourism opportunities and resources; with some in-person events and some development of resources to support individuals in their own exploration of day-trip opportunities throughout the community.

Business Support Associate Summer Internship Opportunities

Term of Employment: July 4 to August 19, 2022
Hours: 35-hour week (will include some events on evenings and weekends)

 

The Delta Chamber of Commerce is seeking applications for Business Support Associate internship positions to work on business-related initiatives which support the economic resilience and recovery of small businesses in the federal electoral district of Delta; which includes both the City of Delta and Tsawwassen First Nation. This work will include connecting directly with businesses over the phone, by email, and/or in-person (where appropriate and safe, based on the COVID-19 Safety Plan of the Delta Chamber of Commerce) to understand the needs of businesses in the community, and support advocating for them with decision-makers at all levels of government. This position is well-suited for those interested in business, economic development, customer service and/or political science.
