Dear Members, 2019 was a growth year for your Chamber and I am grateful for the opportunities over this past year to meet many of you and learn about your businesses and how they contribute to the well-being of our community. I appreciate your trust and commitment to work with your Delta Chamber and help us grow a stronger business network and create positive changes for Delta. Thank you to those of you who gave us your input on the Collective Perspective Survey we distributed last fall. In spite of the challenges with our transportation infrastructure, access to skilled labour and affordable housing, many of you are projecting a modest business growth in 2020. We will be reaching out with more specific questions about your labour needs in the 1st quarter so that we can provide more details and recommendations to the decision makers at all levels of government regarding the skills we need to fill the job opportunities in Delta. Please stay tuned for our line-up of events planned for 2020 starting with our Business Kick Start on January 29th. Spend a morning learning the latest in business planning, HR insights, and sales and marketing techniques from BDC and KPU. There will be short workshop sessions after each presentation, with take-away materials for you to work on your business in 2020. Registration is now open. A number of our members throughout Delta are planning After 5 business socials to showcase their businesses. Please check the Delta Chamber website for all our upcoming events. Our business environment will have some real challenges in 2020 but this year also promises some great opportunities for our Delta business community. I wish you and your company the greatest success and am looking forward to us strengthening our role as the Voice of Business in Delta. Happy New Year! Garry Shearer,
