U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Department of Homeland Security has issued a reminder that, effective January 31, 2008, all travelers entering the United States will be expected to present documents proving citizenship, such as a birth certificate, and government-issued documents proving identity, such as a driver’s license, when entering the country through land and sea ports of entry. >>more information>>

Earlier this year the Delta Chamber of Commerce advocated on behalf of the Canadian International Mail Industry Association and its member businesses based in this region. The Chamber sent a letter, and a second letter, to speak up against Canada Post’s attempt to monopolize businesses’ mailings outside the country, to the federal Minister of Transportation, the Honourable Lawrence Cannon, MP, the Leader of the Opposition and other MPs.
