The lifeblood of any non-profit association such as the Delta Chamber of Commerce is its volunteers. Helping the Chamber is an excellent way to support the community as well as local businesses. Delta Chamber Member Committee

As a member of the Delta Chamber, one of the best ways to get involved is by volunteering on our member committees. Through these groups, volunteers help the Chamber shape issues and accomplish goals important for the economic vitality of the entire community. Volunteers benefit by expanding their business contacts and forming long-term client relationships. The committees are:
• Transportation
• Economic Development
• Tourism
• Membership
• Events
• Communications

Event Volunteers

Monthly luncheons sometimes breakfasts, and other special events need people to help promote the events, set up venues, register guests, and attend the events on a wide range of business and development topics.

Hats Off to Excellence Gala Committee Members

The annual Hats Off to Excellence Gala, usually held at the beginning of November, is an opportunity to network, recognize leaders in business community, and enjoy a fun evening towards the end of the year. It is also an important opportunity to recognize our sponsors and raise funds for our member services. Committee members are needed early in the year to interview and select finalists and winners nominated every year, find auction items from our many contributors, plan and produce the event, and register guests.

Golf Tournament Committee Members

The annual Golf Tournament i held at the beginning of July and is a great opportunity to network and just have fun. It also allows us to recognize our sponsors and raise funds for our member services. Committee members are needed early in the year to select the venue, plan and produce the event, find auction items from our many contributors, and register guests.

Delta Chamber and Visitor Centre Tourism Counselors

Catch the enthusiasm of living in "the best place on earth." At the Visitor's Centre, we happily share our enthusiasm about Delta and British Columbia. Our training program for volunteers includes certification through Tourism BC, and through the Tourism Challenge ramp up, our volunteers personally tour forty attractions allowing them to speak from their own experience. Working as a tourism counselor is a wonderful way to participate in the vibrancy of life and keep yourself in shape physically, mentally and emotionally. Enjoy your summers by joining us at the peak of tourism activity and through the rest of the year.

Chamber Office Volunteers

Throughout the year, people starting their businesses need help doing name searches for their new company, companies shipping goods overseas need Certificates of Origin, phones need answering, mailings need to be prepared, and computer entries need to be made. As an office volunteer, you can help businesses accomplish these essential tasks. As an office volunteer you may also be advising and assisting tourists from other parts of the province, the rest of Canada, the United States, Europe, and beyond. Please consider joining us as an office volunteer for half a day a week.
