March 4, 2010 dinner to celebrate 100th Birthday of Delta Chamber

Join one of the biggest birthday parties of the year, on Thursday, March 4, 2010, to kick off a year of celebration marking the 100th Anniversary of the Delta Chamber of Commerce. On that day, 100 years ago, the “Delta Board of Trade” held its first meeting. Celebrate the community that businesses and residents of Delta have built over the time since that day.

Among those planning to attend the celebration are past mayors of Delta, Doug Cummins and Beth Johnson, former Delta Councillor and current Mayor of Langley His Worship Rick Green, past chamber presidents, including Edgar Dunning (president in 1950 who turned 100 in January), Ron Stewart and Leslie Abramson.

The fun evening will include some stories from the past to celebrate – “Some long-kept secrets may be revealed,” event organizer Leslie Abramson says – and a look to the future. Actor, comedian and story-teller Jackson Davies, as MC, will help make the evening enjoyable.
